ShaliniShalini is a guitarist and bass player who is crazy about rock/pop music. As a little kid, she was mesmerized by the Supremes, Elvis, and the Beatles. Later, she gravitated toward punk influenced 70s and 80s music: Blondie, Cheap Trick, X, the Undertones, the Clash, the Sex Pistols, the Damned, Kirsty MacColl, the Bangles, the Go-Go's, R.E.M, and the Smiths.

Shalini started playing bass as a teenager in Kissyfish. She formed Vinyl Devotion from 1993-1999, releasing an EP (1994) and LP (1997) on the Widely Distributed Records and Parasol labels, respectively. In 2000 she launched the more polished "Shalini" combo with another full length release on the Parasol label (2000), one more on Dalloway (2004), another on 125 Records (2007) and an EP on Paisley Pop (2010). She also released a krautrock record under the name "econoghost" on 125 Records (2002). See Discography section for titles and cute thumbnails.

After relocating from Chicago to Charlotte, NC, she formed a new band called Party Battleship in 2014. The band self-released a full-length original recording Cake + Flames in 2017, available on Bandcamp. The second full length Sweet Thing was released on November 11, 2022. See facebook.com/partybattleship for details, and visit Partybattleship.hearnow.com to follow streaming options. Sweet Thing is available from Bandcamp on CD.
